DESCRIPTION
1996
The Font de l´Aixeta Park forms part of the redevelopment of the main road, the BP-1241, crossing the village of St. Llorenç Savall. It goes from the town limits to the Municipal Cemetary.
The topography of this part of the town of St. Llorenç was complex, given that there is a steep slope between the main crossing road and the park. As always the economic component was critical. We needed to assure the continuity of the sidewalks on the upper part along the road. The construction of retaining walls along the entire length of this stretch of road, which at the beginning everyone advised, was unthinkable due to its high cost. For this reason we proposed the construction of walkways using prefabricated slabs supported by prefabricated pillars of reinforced concrete. The slabs and the pillars were put in place in a minimum amount of time, and the cost was very reasonable. In the upper part we designed a stone wall as a railing along the entire stretch of road.
The park is located in its lower end over an esplanade that covers the streambed, and is a space that also serves as an access to the Municipal Schools. It is a recreation space and waiting area that is used regularly by all the townspeople.
