DESCRIPTION
2011
We began this interior design project by demolishing the existing clothing store interior. The store had an attic and various load-bearing walls that separated the space into small rooms. Behind the public space there was an area used as a workshop.
The first charge was to really clean up the space and remove all of the walls, structural or not, that compartmentalized the entire floor, and try to achieve an open floor plan with as few floor levels as possible.
In the interior there was a small ventilation patio with a tree growing in it.
Once we had finished this construction phase, the owner proposed that we carry out the interior design of the new store.
To be fair, it´s important to give credit to the owner Nuria and her daughter Eugenia, whose contributions to the project were essential, fun, and valuable. It was they who really knew how they wanted the space to work, and once I had a clear idea of the space and what they wanted to do, I only had to listen to them and interpret their needs.
It´s true that one day Nuria told me not to put any more iron; she didn´t want any more iron workers around, so we did that. We left the tree in place, and added a skylight to allow natural light to enter, and even a little water for the tree. The rest can be seen perfectly in the photos.
