DESCRIPTION

The Salmeron building was the second and last part of our experience with what could be called complete control, that is, promotion, design and technical direction of the job, construction and later sale. Taking advantage of the knowledge that we acquired in the Plaça Vella building, we did it again, even though this building was much bigger and more complex. In any case, we were able to experiment and provide architectural solutions with top-of-the-line finishings and spatial and architectural dimensions unthinkable under the dictates of a conventional promotor.
The building is designed around a central space ventilated through the roof by a glass cupola. There are two elevators and only one staircase. Each elevator is a distribution node, and the elevators are connected by a bridge. Although there are 8 residences on each floor, the common connection space is wide and the privacy of access to each living space is possible. In the facades we tried to create a more technical type of enclosure in such a way that there was practically no factory work and all of the enclosure is of glass and aluminum.
The construction methods used and the exacting design, along with the application of logistics at the time of execution, resulted in an economical cost per m2, even though the cost of materials used is of a very high level. As a result, the costs were where they had to be, in service of good quality architecture and construction. The installation of equipment was very controlled and kept in mind from the beginning. We designed spaces for the equipment in such as way that the majority of it is able to be maintained and replaced without difficulty.
