LOCATION
Horta-Guinardó, Barcelona province
DESCRIPTION
1997
The Sabio Fuentes house is located in a very odd part of Barcelona. Once you are on the property, the sensation of being immersed in the city of Barcelona disappears. You find yourself thinking about the islands, with the sea as a backdrop, with a romanesque church in front, and back in the era when there were few homes nearby. Given the topography of the site we opted to design the house following the existing terraces in such as way that each higher floor is stepped-back from the floor below, creating a terrace or patio on each floor. The lot has southern exposure, and impressive views of the city and the sea. The highest level contains a terrace with views of the sea, a studio, and an interior garden on the highest part of the property. The construction style is traditional, it has a coherent architectural style, and its cost was economical.
