The rehabilitation of Raval Street was a challenge, but in the end we succeeded. We wanted the rehabilitation of Raval to be an example of how a village street could be rehabilitated and given some dignity, but with more than simply new paving. We also wanted to open the views of the Marquet house, which had recently been purchased by the town of St.Llorenç Savall (this was an option that I took on personally, as I had always believed that the Marquet house needed to be rehabilitated and recovered for use).
For these reasons we had to work on the enclosing wall located on the north side of the street, creating a unified look for all the walls and convincing everyone that this was necessary. For this to be possible, the cost of work had to be very low, or otherwise we wouldn´t be able to get the job approved. We proposed, and later convinced people, to re-use the stones from the old enclosure walls of the Marquet house to re-build the new walls. This had another result as well, as when we opened the views to the Marquet house it became obvious to we had to proceed with its rehabilitation, as it was in a bad state of preservation.
In a later project, we proceeded with the rehabilitation of the Marquet house, which in the end became the new Town Hall.
